Description

  • Partner with Product Management, Design, Data Science, and client engineering teams to translate user and business needs into reliable, low-latency solutions.
  • Own the software lifecycle for major product initiatives, including technical design, API contracts, development, testing, rollout, and observability.
  • Design, build, and evaluate A/B experiments using behavioral, conversion, and retention metrics.
  • Build and maintain scalable GraphQL, REST, and gRPC APIs and distributed backend services.
  • Optimize services for client consumption and consumer UI performance.
  • Establish engineering best practices and improve developer workflows.
  • Mentor teammates and use modern, AI-integrated tools to deliver high-quality products.
  • Collaborate across consumer teams focused on feeds, communities, growth, monetization, identity, and security.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience with large-scale distributed systems in high-concurrency environments.
  • Proficiency in one or more of JavaScript, TypeScript, or ES6.
  • Experience with a frontend framework such as Lit, Polymer, React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Experience with CSS.
  • Experience designing experiments, defining performance metrics, and using data to guide product decisions.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally in remote or hybrid environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment.
  • User-centric, hypothesis-driven approach to product development.
  • Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with or interest in AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • Experience with BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase is relevant to experimentation and analytics work.
