Description

  • Own the complete embedded software flow for a satellite equipment or scientific instrument.
  • Translate customer requirements into software specifications.
  • Determine the project approach and software lifecycle in collaboration with the Electronic System Engineer and project manager.
  • Review, challenge, and support embedded software design during the design and validation process.
  • Maintain software documentation and plans in line with the project phase.
  • Ensure traceability of customer requirements through the full development and test flow.
  • Assist the project team during technical software reviews with the customer.
  • Lead functional and software performance test campaigns for the equipment or instrument.
  • Document software components and test results properly.
  • Maintain overall technical coherence across the project team.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with ESA practices and standards, especially ECSS-E-40/Q-80, is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with design, development, and testing of embedded systems is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of microelectronics is required.
  • Familiarity with C and/or C++ is required.
  • Familiarity with FPGA design using VHDL and micro-processor architectures is required.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills are required.
  • Proactive, creative, enthusiastic, and result-oriented team-player mindset is preferred.
  • Natural problem-solving ability and willingness to get involved when needed are preferred.
  • Ability to pass a police/criminal record check issued within the last six months is required for relocation.
  • ITAR approval is required for relocation to Redwire Space.
