Description

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ACH and wire transfer systems, including origination, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
  • Develop payment-processing pipelines integrating with banking partners, payment rails, and financial APIs.
  • Implement wire fraud prevention, transaction verification, and anomaly detection controls with Security and Compliance teams.
  • Extend frontend and backend applications supporting escrow accounting and closing-day money movement.
  • Own payment architecture decisions involving data integrity, idempotency, retries, failure handling, and audit logging.
  • Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Accounting teams to meet regulatory and audit requirements, including NACHA, wire fraud regulations, and SOC 2 controls.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for payment-critical systems.
  • Mentor junior developers and collaborate across engineering, design, compliance, and customer-facing teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a strong full-stack web developer.
  • Experience owning complex, high-liability production systems.
  • Experience building or maintaining money-movement systems in banking, fintech, payments, or other regulated environments (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of transactional integrity, idempotency, and failure-mode design in financial systems.
  • Familiarity with payment rails, banking APIs, NACHA, OFAC screening, PCI, or SOC 2 (preferred).
  • Experience making architectural decisions for large, high-stakes projects.
  • Experience working on both small and large engineering teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js; React or MeteorJS; MongoDB; Kubernetes/microservices; and AWS.
  • Strong product judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to trustworthy financial systems.
