Description

  • Build, optimize, and embed machine learning models for on-device inference within the QSIDS detection engine.
  • Optimize models for memory footprint, latency, compute use, and other on-device resource constraints.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers to integrate models efficiently into a Go-based engine.
  • Own models after deployment by monitoring performance, detecting drift, and iterating to maintain reliability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define milestones and align timelines with development needs.
  • Participate in product and technology decisions related to development choices.
  • Resolve anomalies and operational problems as they arise.
  • Stay current on ML technologies and best practices while avoiding unnecessary novelty chasing.
  • Help onboard and train colleagues as the team grows.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience building and shipping machine learning models to production.
  • Experience deploying, running, and monitoring machine learning models in live environments.
  • Hands-on experience owning models post-deployment, including performance monitoring, drift detection, and iteration.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience embedding ML models for on-device inference, preferred.
  • Experience with high-performance, low-resource systems programming such as memory management, multithreading, and optimization, ideally in Go or an adjacent systems language, preferred.
  • Bilingual in French and English, preferred.
  • Experience working in a startup environment, preferred.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, preferred.
  • Working proficiency in English is required for this position.
