Description

  • Design, implement, test, and release platform features end-to-end with limited guidance.
  • Build and maintain federated identity, authentication, and authorization services.
  • Implement integrations with a centralized identity platform, including token handling and session management.
  • Develop backend service integrations in Python or .NET using common API patterns.
  • Write and maintain REST and event-driven API contracts with versioning and backwards compatibility in mind.
  • Instrument services for observability through logging, metrics, and alerting.
  • Monitor shipped features, respond to issues, and participate in incident response and on-call rotations.
  • Support product teams with integration debugging, edge cases, documentation, and self-service materials.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the delivery workflow and help improve team AI harnesses and workflows.
  • Participate in design discussions, API reviews, code reviews, and mentorship of junior engineers.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated ability to own and deliver production features independently.
  • Hands-on experience building backend services in .NET or Python, including RESTful API development.
  • Production experience implementing or integrating federated identity systems using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML 2.0, and/or JWT.
  • Practical understanding of authorization frameworks, policy modeling, enforcement, and integration.
  • Working knowledge of identity protocol mechanics such as authorization code flow, token introspection, claims-based access, assertion handling, and SSO logout behavior.
  • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS integration patterns, including tenant-scoped configuration and identity across application boundaries.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, with AWS preferred, including networking, compute, and secrets management services.
  • Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and automated testing.
  • Active daily use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Preferred: experience with a commercial or open-source identity platform.
  • Preferred: experience modeling and implementing fine-grained authorization such as RBAC and ABAC.
  • Preferred: familiarity with token security considerations and SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.
  • Preferred: experience building software in financial services, regulated technology, or internal platform environments.
  • Preferred: exposure to AI harnesses, evaluation pipelines, design exploration, or test generation using AI tools.
