Description

  • Manage database administration, configuration, monitoring, and deployment for Microsoft SQL databases and build packages.
  • Provide technical leadership to development teams on database infrastructure issues.
  • Help define strategic database architecture direction and review technical documents for compliance with enterprise and security standards.
  • Plan and execute database patching, upgrades, backups, index rebuilding, and statistics gathering.
  • Develop, maintain, and review database standards, data structures, models, frameworks, and blueprints.
  • Tune query performance, optimize data retrieval and loading, and perform capacity planning and volumetric analysis.
  • Partner with clients, analysts, technical staff, and project teams to design, develop, implement, and enhance relational database solutions.
  • Evaluate database tools, technologies, and vendors, including proof-of-concepts and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Support high availability, disaster recovery, failover orchestration, data migration, and cloud/containerized infrastructure initiatives.
  • Develop and implement data security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect sensitive information.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with SQL Server and AOAG build, configuration, and deployments.
  • 5+ years of experience as an MS SQL or equivalent database administrator in a clustered AOAG environment.
  • Experience in RDBMS administration and configuration for large projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of XML standards is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically, troubleshoot root causes, and solve problems using industry-standard methodologies.
  • Ability to manage time, multiple priorities, and maintain accurate documentation and SOPs.
  • Experience with failover orchestration, query optimization, data migration, cloud infrastructure, clustering, load balancers, and high availability/disaster recovery solutions.
