Description

  • Manage day-to-day trust accounting processes for property management companies with trust accounts.
  • Handle inbox management and send weekly client update emails.
  • Evaluate client communication needs and escalate dissatisfaction, missed deadlines, or higher-level issues to the AE.
  • Process accounting requests including vendor credits, fund transfers, receipts and deposits, tenant charges, deposits and credits, owner adjustments, ownership changes, cancellations, lease-only payouts, HAP payments, late fees, eviction notices, NSF processing, and security deposits.
  • Follow AppFolio workflows and accommodate client-specific constraints or policies.
  • Approve bills, post management fees, process vendor payments, send physical check files, and request or issue stop payments as directed.
  • Review owner statements, send statements, and process owner disbursements.
  • Support banking operations including deposit follow-up, bank reconciliation troubleshooting and review, bank transfers, corrective journal entries, and review of issued checks past 90 days.
  • Assist with negative and positive FDR review, 1099s, fee reviews for new move-ins, vacant property fee settings, recurring JEs, recurring bills, and other AE-assigned projects.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly SMART goal setting, weekly company meetings, and company initiatives.

Requirements

  • Background in accounting or proven understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Real hands-on experience with AppFolio.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to understand new concepts through written and hands-on support.
  • Reliable internet connection and ability to use a webcam.
  • Availability to work from home with set hours overlapping Mountain, Central, or Eastern Standard Time.
  • Preferred experience with Google Suite, property management accounting, and Rentvine.
