Description

  • Own day-to-day trust accounting processes for property management clients with trust accounts.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, bank deposit follow-up, and bank reconciliation troubleshooting and review.
  • Manage tenant and owner accounting including tenant charges, deposits, credits, owner adjustments, ownership changes, tenant receipts/deposits, and owner disbursements and statement review.
  • Execute A/P cycle tasks such as approving bills, posting management fees and payouts, processing vendor payments, and sending physical check files or stop-payment requests as directed.
  • Process security deposits, HAP payments, late fees, eviction notices, NSF processing, and Lease Only payouts according to client constraints and policies.
  • Enter corrective journal entries (with AE approval), manage recurring JEs/recurring bills, and review issued checks older than 90 days.
  • Provide regular client communication including inbox management, weekly client update emails, and implement routine communications as needed; escalate client dissatisfaction or higher-level issues to the AE.
  • Support ad hoc reporting, negative/positive FDR review, assist with 1099s, and complete other AE-assigned projects and administrative tasks.
  • Participate in setting and meeting SMART goals, attend weekly company meetings, and contribute to company initiatives.

Requirements

  • Real, demonstrable experience with AppFolio or Rentvine (required).
  • Background in accounting or proven understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to demonstrate written communication ability.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to learn new concepts from written and hands-on support.
  • Experience with Google Suite products (preferred).
  • Understanding of property management accounting concepts and workflows (preferred).
  • Ability to work full-time (hourly, anticipated ~40 hours/week) and be available for an immediate start.
  • Reliable internet connection, webcam for virtual communication, and set working hours overlapping Mountain, Central, or Eastern Time.
