Description

  • Perform monthly financial reviews for 20+ clients, including P&L and Balance Sheet review for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Identify key variances, trends, and anomalies versus prior periods and highlight unusual or material movements in revenue and expenses.
  • Draft client-facing communications summarizing findings, questions, and recommendations, and respond to client questions about transaction coding and accuracy.
  • Generate, customize, and deliver accurate financial reports per client requirements within agreed timelines.
  • Help meet monthly and annual financial close deadlines, ensuring prior-month books are closed within 10 business days.
  • Assist with accounting cleanup tasks including categorizing backlog bank-feed activity, revenue and expense coding to the NARPM Standard Chart of Accounts, and balance sheet review and adjustments.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations: review uncleared transactions, pull account statements, execute reconciliations per written processes, and research and propose resolutions for issues.
  • Serve as bank-feed backup: code and match transactions from bank and credit card feeds, review rules for recurring transactions, and document questions for clients.
  • Serve as payroll-recording backup: create journal entries from labor allocation reports, upload entries to QuickBooks (and/or Xero), book benefit bills, and cross-check clearing accounts.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) — required to be considered for this role.
  • Background in accounting or proven understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Good written communication skills and ability to learn new concepts with written and hands-on support.
  • Availability for full-time hourly work, anticipated 40 hours/week, with an immediate start preferred.
  • Preferred: experience with Xero.
  • Preferred: understanding of property management accounting and familiarity with the NARPM Standard Chart of Accounts.
  • Preferred: experience with AppFolio, payroll processing and payroll tax filing, or prior experience in financial auditing/financial review.
