Description

  • Review contractual agreements to understand billing terms, payment schedules, invoicing requirements, and ancillary charge conditions.
  • Create and send accurate, timely invoices to customers in accordance with contract terms and accounting standards.
  • Manage billing schedules to ensure invoices are issued on time and payments are received per contract timelines.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes by collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to secure timely payments.
  • Maintain and update accurate billing records, including invoices, payments received, and changes to billing terms or schedules.
  • Support financial reporting and revenue recognition by preparing reports and analyses related to contractual billing.
  • Escalate complicated issues to senior resources or appropriate teams when necessary.
  • Maintain real-time timesheets, participate in team meetings (huddles, L10, one-on-ones), attend training, and follow established standards and processes.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with clients and colleagues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize client satisfaction.
  • Document and maintain billing processes, standards, and product/service knowledge, and provide feedback to improve processes.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of recent experience in the IT industry as a Billing Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Comfortable working Eastern Time (EST) hours, which may be night shift for Philippines-based applicants.
  • Willingness to work a 3-month contract and to start fully remote with personal equipment (laptop, headset, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical aptitude, with proficiency in basic math and familiarity with accounting principles.
  • Analytical ability to interpret complex contractual terms and ensure billing aligns with agreed terms.
  • Proficiency with billing software and account/billing platforms; familiarity with popular accounting software is advantageous.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and critical thinking to identify root causes and propose solutions.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check as part of the hiring process.
