Description

  • Review and edit manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slides, PDFs, and digital materials for grammar, spelling, consistency, and clarity.
  • Ensure all content aligns with house, client, and journal style guides.
  • Apply digital markup tools, tracked changes, and comments to provide clear editorial feedback.
  • Proof typeset copy and coordinate layout-related amendments with studio or journal teams.
  • Check redrawn figures, PowerPoint files, and PDFs against submitted materials for accuracy.
  • Ensure required copyright and author permissions are in place and correct wording is included.
  • Own and update client style guides to maintain consistency across accounts.
  • Verify scientific accuracy by checking data, references, and source materials in line with SOPs.
  • Collaborate with scientific teams to resolve data discrepancies or uncertainties.
  • Track project time, complete timesheets, and flag scope, timeline, or budget issues proactively.

Requirements

  • Life sciences degree is required.
  • 1+ year of experience working for a medical communications company, medical journal, or similar.
  • Highest standards of English spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solutions-focused with sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced agency setting.
  • Strong multitasking, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, EndNote, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with digital markup, tracked changes, and editing tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Openness to learning, feedback, and career development.
