Description

  • Lead and support monthly project accounting activities, including status meetings with project managers and financial tracker updates.
  • Review and reconcile new projects, change orders, budget adjustments, and carve-outs against Salesforce and financial records.
  • Set up new clients in accounting systems and maintain employee mappings, billable rates, and contract terms.
  • Manage intercompany revenue and cost transactions, allocations, and related contract execution support.
  • Assist with revenue recognition, contract compliance, and updates for new awards and out-of-period revenue.
  • Prepare monthly project revenue forecasts and compare results against budget and plan.
  • Review hours, expenses, invoicing, accruals, and past-due balances for client projects and follow up as needed.
  • Track subcontractor hours, expenses, and bill rates against forecasts and budgets.
  • Support annual budget preparation, P&L budget line items, and supporting documents for the annual audit.
  • Help improve departmental workflows, mentor junior staff, and assist with month-end close activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting, finance, or business.
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Agency or professional services experience preferred.
  • Month-end close experience preferred.
  • Revenue recognition experience preferred.
  • Project accounting experience preferred.
  • Client services or client-facing experience preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information with strong attention to detail.
