Description

  • Own portfolio-level financial analysis for Clinical Solutions departments, including budget health, forecast accuracy, margin performance, and risk identification.
  • Lead financial oversight across the project lifecycle from award through closeout, ensuring adherence to financial best practices and internal controls.
  • Perform variance analysis across actuals, forecasts, and budgets to identify change drivers, scope creep, and emerging risks.
  • Partner with project finance teams to ensure consistency and integrity of data used in portfolio reporting.
  • Support forecasting and planning processes by building clear, supportable assumptions.
  • Monitor budget consumption, earned value indicators, and change order impacts across portfolios.
  • Develop and maintain trial operations KPIs and measures that connect operational performance to financial outcomes.
  • Use Excel and Power BI to build scalable dashboards and analyses for governance and executive review.
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Prepare executive-ready presentations and materials summarizing portfolio performance, risks, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent plus 5 years of related experience.
  • Approximately 5-8 years of experience in project finance, FP&A, or operational finance.
  • Strong preference for experience in a CRO or clinical research environment.
  • Experience managing or analyzing clinical trial portfolios and complex project financials.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and large data sets.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI or similar business intelligence and visualization tools.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with experience presenting to senior leaders and department heads.
  • Solid understanding of clinical trial financial drivers, project lifecycles, and contract or budget mechanics.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen with the ability to connect operational activity to financial outcomes.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
