Description

  • Lead the strategic development and optimization of clinical data systems for global clinical trials.
  • Drive enterprise-level data standardization and mapping initiatives across programs.
  • Design and implement scalable validation frameworks to detect and resolve systemic data quality issues.
  • Build and maintain modular codebases using Python, R, SQL, and SAS.
  • Establish coding standards and mentor junior engineers on automation, reproducibility, and performance optimization.
  • Lead compliance efforts for GCP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and other global regulatory requirements.
  • Define documentation and audit trail protocols to support inspection readiness and transparency.
  • Develop dashboards and analytics tools that provide insights into trial progress, data quality, and operational KPIs.
  • Partner with Biostatistics, Clinical Operations, and Regulatory Affairs to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead the design and optimization of secure, high-performance relational databases and ETL pipelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, statistics, data management, clinical operations, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in clinical monitoring, clinical trial management, or an equivalent area.
  • Advanced programming and automation skills.
  • Experience with database design and dashboard development.
  • Knowledge of CDISC governance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to extract pertinent information from protocols, electronic study data systems, and clinical systems.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data monitoring tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data quality and integrity.
  • Experience with integrated risk planning and management.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members.
  • CRO experience as a Clinical Data Engineer or Programmer, preferred.
