Description

  • Lead the architectural design of scalable web applications, microservices, and platform systems.
  • Contribute hands-on to the development and improvement of the platform codebase.
  • Make system architecture decisions around data architecture, API design, application boundaries, and microservice communication.
  • Design patterns for running asynchronous, compute-heavy ML jobs at scale.
  • Collaborate with scientists and ML experts on drug discovery and production ML initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical standard-setting.
  • Manage a small team of direct reports and help grow technical leadership across the team.
  • Drive engineering excellence initiatives such as CI/CD improvements, code quality, testing, monitoring, and AI tooling.
  • Build tools and workflows for real-time data analysis and advanced drug design processes.
  • Foster a culture of learning, cross-team collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or more advanced education.
  • Experience in systems design and backend web development.
  • Interest in technical mentorship and management.
  • Experience with cloud providers, ideally AWS.
  • Experience with container orchestration frameworks and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
  • Experience working with Python, modern frontend frameworks, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with a Python-based backend web framework such as Django (preferred).
  • Experience integrating ML systems into production services or software (preferred).
  • Familiarity with container orchestration or workflow systems such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Argo, or Airflow (preferred).
  • Familiarity with data pipelines (preferred).
  • Experience designing agentic workflows and context engineering (preferred).
  • Past roles with technical mentorship or people management responsibilities (preferred).

Benefits

  • Salary range of $190k to $220k.
  • Equity grant of 0.10% to 0.20%.
  • Remote, full-time role.
