Description

  • Manage, build, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud-based MySQL database infrastructure.
  • Own observability for MySQL database metrics and help ensure performance and reliability objectives are met.
  • Identify operational toil and implement automation and processes to manage MySQL systems at scale.
  • Work with Engineering and SRE teams to support new product development and reliable database integration.
  • Provide database support for migrations, query performance, schema and design improvements, and MySQL configuration and deployment standards.
  • Assist with database performance troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Apply a data-driven approach to performance tuning, availability improvements, and operational optimization.
  • Collaborate with the DBA team to improve database operations and reduce manual work.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with relational database systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with MySQL administration, performance tuning, replication, and HA/DR.
  • 1+ years of experience in a DBRE or database-focused engineering role.
  • Experience working in a cloud environment such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with Azure preferred.
  • Coding and automation experience with Python, PowerShell, SQL, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Experience working with source control systems such as Git.
  • Experience with VLDBs of 1+ TB and managing large database fleets of 100+ instances.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as PowerShell, C#, SQL, and Python.
  • PostgreSQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Grafana, and NoSQL technologies is a plus.
  • On-call or after-hours work is required.
