Description

  • Design web graphics, technical diagrams, illustrations, and interactive visual assets.
  • Create visual systems for campaigns, product launches, and marketing initiatives across digital, print, experiential, and merchandise formats.
  • Design booth graphics, signage, environmental branding, event collateral, and developer-focused merchandise.
  • Create website components, landing pages, data visualizations, social graphics, blog imagery, and other digital marketing assets.
  • Develop templates and design systems that help the marketing team work efficiently.
  • Collaborate with marketing and events leadership to create cohesive, memorable brand experiences.
  • Evolve PlanetScale’s visual identity while maintaining brand coherence.
  • Document design decisions and maintain brand guidelines.

Requirements

  • Portfolio demonstrating versatile design experience across digital, print, and experiential work.
  • Strong understanding of typography, color, composition, and visual hierarchy.
  • Ability to work in both brand strategy and detailed production modes.
  • Experience using AI effectively within a design workflow, including creating working first drafts of pages.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain design decisions and incorporate feedback.
  • Self-directed ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Experience designing for technical or developer-focused brands preferred.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools preferred.
  • Understanding of design systems and component-based thinking preferred.
  • Interest in databases, infrastructure, and developer tools preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $170,000–$220,000 USD.
  • Total compensation includes base salary, benefits, and equity.
