Description

  • Prototype new model architectures for Pinterest vision-language models.
  • Fine-tune open-source LLMs to improve visual perception and tool-use capabilities.
  • Develop evaluation benchmarks for vision-centric tasks such as fashion style recommendations.
  • Read research papers, contribute to group discussions, and help shape the visual generative strategy.
  • Collect relevant visual training data for Pinterest Canvas, including for RLHF and targeted fine-tuning.
  • Publish research through conferences, paper submissions, and blog posts.
  • Mentor junior researchers and research interns within Pinterest Labs.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of industry computer vision experience.
  • Experience working with generative computer vision models, including visual encoders and LLMs, preferred.
  • M.S. or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Publications at top ML conferences, preferred.
  • Experience using Cursor, Copilot, Codex, or similar AI coding assistants for development, debugging, testing, and refactoring, preferred.
  • Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools for documentation search, experiment analysis, SQL/data exploration, and workflow acceleration, preferred.
  • Ability to work in person for collaboration 1-2 times per quarter.
  • Must be able to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.; relocation assistance is not provided for this role.

  • Base salary range of $138,905 to $285,982 USD.
  • Eligible for equity.
  • Remote-first flexibility with only 1-2 in-office collaboration visits per quarter.
