Description

  • Lead the technical vision, architecture, and long-term engineering strategy for the CarePath Loyalty platform.
  • Design and evolve a platform that supports integrations across dozens of third-party systems while maintaining reliability and observability.
  • Architect data pipelines, APIs, and services that enable data exchange between clinics, pet owners, drug manufacturers, and partners.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and Operations to turn customer needs into scalable technical solutions and roadmap inputs.
  • Drive architectural decisions that balance speed, flexibility, maintainability, and long-term platform health.
  • Identify and drive operational efficiencies by streamlining processes, reducing manual work, and improving reliability and throughput.
  • Oversee end-to-end technical execution of key initiatives, including timelines, dependencies, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for external stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant communication.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, provide hands-on technical guidance, and offer project-level oversight for complex initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks related to integrations, data quality, scalability, and system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years at the Staff or Principal Engineer level, or in equivalent technical leadership roles.
  • Deep expertise designing and operating distributed systems, integration platforms, APIs, and data-intensive applications at scale.
  • Experience building and supporting complex third-party integrations, preferably in healthcare, veterinary technology, fintech, SaaS, or similar ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, event-driven design, data modeling, and modern cloud-native application development.
  • Demonstrated project management experience driving complex technical initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders without formal PM authority.
  • Proven operational awareness and experience improving technical workflows or business processes cross-functionally.
  • Experience serving as a technical point of contact for external customers, partners, or vendors.
  • Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams and drive alignment without formal authority.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into business impact for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience evaluating architectural tradeoffs and making pragmatic decisions that balance short-term needs with long-term scalability.
  • Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and cloud platforms, with the ability to contribute hands-on when needed.
  • Self-directed, highly collaborative, and motivated by solving complex customer-facing problems.
