Description

  • Lead PetDesk’s technical vision, platform architecture, and long-term engineering strategy.
  • Design and evolve scalable integrations with third-party pharmaceutical manufacturers, clinic systems, and industry partners.
  • Architect data pipelines, APIs, and services enabling data exchange among clinics, pet owners, manufacturers, and partners.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Operations, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with customer needs and roadmap priorities.
  • Drive architectural decisions balancing delivery speed, flexibility, maintainability, scalability, and platform health.
  • Identify operational efficiencies, reduce manual processes, and improve system reliability and throughput.
  • Oversee technical execution of complex initiatives, including timelines, dependencies, coordination, and delivery quality.
  • Serve as a technical contact for external customers, vendors, clinic groups, and pharmaceutical partners.
  • Lead architecture reviews, provide hands-on technical guidance, and oversee initiatives spanning multiple teams and systems.
  • Identify and mitigate risks involving integrations, data quality, scalability, and performance.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to inform technical roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 3 years at Staff or Principal level or equivalent technical leadership capacity.
  • Expertise in .NET and deep experience designing and operating distributed systems, integration platforms, APIs, and large-scale data applications.
  • Experience building and supporting complex third-party integrations; healthcare, veterinary technology, fintech, or SaaS experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, event-driven design, data modeling, and cloud-native application development.
  • Demonstrated project management experience driving complex initiatives across teams without formal authority.
  • Experience identifying technical or business-process inefficiencies and implementing operational improvements.
  • Experience communicating with external customers, partners, or vendors, including non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence technical direction and build alignment across multiple teams without formal authority.
  • Exceptional communication skills for translating technical concepts into business impact.
  • Experience evaluating architectural tradeoffs and balancing immediate needs with long-term scalability.
  • Proficiency with modern programming languages and cloud platforms, with the ability to contribute hands-on.
  • Self-directed, collaborative, business-minded, and motivated by solving complex customer-impacting problems.
