Description

  • Provide technical leadership by improving architecture, tooling, release processes, and engineering standards.
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy while helping shape team direction and align stakeholders.
  • Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and vendor issues early and propose solutions.
  • Translate user requirements into clear technical requirements and collaborate with the team on implementation.
  • Review pull requests and mentor peers and junior engineers through constructive feedback and code reviews.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and fix issues reported in live products in a timely manner.
  • Define release scope with product, engineering, and QA teams.
  • Create unit and automated tests and support CI/CD pipeline improvements.
  • Monitor release health using logs, metrics, alerts, and customer feedback.
  • Apply a security-conscious mindset to access controls, data handling, and organizational security posture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing applications with Swift and automated testing.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Deep understanding of Swift concurrency, including async/await, actors, @MainActor, and Sendable.
  • Strong knowledge of iOS design patterns and best practices.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, testable code with low dependency levels.
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated tests that reduce defects, not just increase coverage.
  • Comfort working in Objective-C codebases and supporting long-term Swift migration.
  • Interest in team quality and cohesion, not just individual output.
  • Experience building mobile applications against RESTful APIs using JSON.
  • Experience with CI/CD automation tools such as GitHub Actions and Fastlane.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.
  • Experience with the Firebase SDK suite, including Crashlytics, Remote Config, Analytics, and FCM.
  • Experience with feature flag platforms such as LaunchDarkly or similar.
  • Experience integrating enterprise Mobile Application Management solutions such as Microsoft Intune, MSAL, and IntuneMAM SDK.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing Swift Packages and working with Swift Package Manager in complex iOS architectures.
  • Experience engineering around poor or intermittent network connectivity.
