Description

  • Maintain generators, diagnose and repair problems, and replace components or entire systems as needed.
  • Perform maintenance, performance checks, and readiness inspections on generators.
  • Read and follow blueprints and design specifications to install or repair equipment.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and test systems for proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to power and generator alarms and handle assigned phone and email communications in a timely manner.
  • Remain available for 24/7 on-call duty when assigned and travel long distances as required.
  • Perform work safely around electrical and mechanical equipment, using required safety equipment and practices.
  • Attend designated safety and training meetings.
  • Complete additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
  • 2 or more years of generator maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Must comply with OSHA standards.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Must be willing to work days, evenings, nights, overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays, and be gone from home for extended periods.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
