Description

  • Maintain commercial generators, diagnose and repair problems, and replace or install components and systems as needed.
  • Perform regular performance checks and preventive maintenance to keep generators ready for service.
  • Read and follow blueprints or design specifications for generator installation and repair work.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and related components, then test for proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to power and generator alarms and remain available for 24/7 on-call duty when assigned.
  • Work safely around electrical and mechanical equipment, following OSHA standards and required safety practices.
  • Attend designated safety and training meetings and use all required safety equipment.
  • Communicate by answering assigned phone and email promptly as part of field response duties.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of generator maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and extended standing.
  • Willingness to drive long distances and work day, evening, or night hours, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts as needed.
  • Ability to assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and spend extended periods away from home.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
