Description

  • Maintain commercial generators by diagnosing problems, repairing faults, and replacing components or entire systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, performance checks, and readiness inspections on generators.
  • Install and repair generators using blueprints or other design specifications.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and related components, then test for proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to power and generator alarms and handle assigned phone and email communications in a timely manner.
  • Remain available for 24/7 on-call duty when required and support emergency callouts.
  • Work safely around power supply equipment, switching gear, and other hazardous conditions while using required safety equipment and practices.
  • Attend and participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Travel regionally, including long-distance driving and extended time away from home as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of generator maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance software, hardware, and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms visually and audibly.
  • Willingness to work days, evenings, nights, overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts as required.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
