Description

  • Execute timely month-end close processes and prepare GAAP-aligned financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready workpapers, general ledgers, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Process payroll and manage employee setup using Gusto or similar platforms.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting activity across multiple entities, locations, and business segments.
  • Calculate and file U.S. state sales taxes while tracking compliance deadlines and documentation.
  • Build financial reports, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide financial insights to leadership.
  • Review and improve accounting workflows, controls, documentation, reconciliation processes, and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate with leadership and clients regarding deliverables, deadlines, discrepancies, and accounting priorities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Hands-on expertise in accrual accounting and GAAP financial reporting.
  • Experience managing multi-entity, multi-location, or multi-segment accounting environments.
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online; QuickBooks Desktop or Enterprise experience is also relevant.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, and Data Tables.
  • Payroll processing experience using Gusto or a similar platform.
  • Experience calculating and filing U.S. state sales tax.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, AP, AR, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; ability to work independently during U.S. business hours.
  • Preferred: NetSuite, Paylocity or ADP, Ramp or Bill.com, Clockify, outsourced accounting, and accounting process improvement experience.
