Description

  • Lead commercial success and growth for Patch’s platform products.
  • Partner with sales to increase revenue, including applying AI capabilities for large brands.
  • Develop ways to improve journalists’ financial and operational opportunities.
  • Lead technical and product teams in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Prototype solutions, inspect data, engage with customers, and work through product details directly with the team.
  • Reason about architecture, data, feasibility, and product trade-offs.
  • Build trust with engineers across Patch’s web, mobile, email, publishing, payments, data, search, and advertising products.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated commercial success and business outcomes in self-serve SMB products with low-price, recurring revenue models.
  • Fluency in Clayton Christensen’s Jobs to Be Done framework.
  • 5+ years of experience leading leaders in technical and product roles in entrepreneurial environments.
  • 10+ years of experience as an engineer and/or managing engineering teams.
  • Technical credibility and ability to reason directly about architecture, data, feasibility, and trade-offs.
  • Hands-on product leadership experience, including prototyping, data analysis, customer conversations, and detailed execution.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to earn engineers’ trust; experience with Patch’s full technology stack is not required.
  • Leadership style characterized by curiosity, candor, self-awareness, low ego, and humor.
  • Connection to Patch’s mission of informing communities and supporting local businesses and event marketers.
