Description

  • Lead the development of Overstory’s technology across the software product, ML models, internal tools, and underlying platform.
  • Partner closely with the VP Product & Strategy to shape product direction and translate customer problems into engineering initiatives.
  • Build and scale a high-performing, diverse engineering team across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Define the technical vision and turn it into a 12-36 month strategy.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ship a high-quality product on a daily basis.
  • Foster an inclusive team culture where people can do their best work.
  • Strengthen communication within the engineering organization and across key business functions.
  • Work hands-on to solve complex technical problems while communicating effectively with the board.

Requirements

  • Experience leading engineering teams through Series A to Series C or later at a VC-backed startup.
  • Experience managing a team of 70+ people.
  • Experience working on a complex ML-based product; geospatial or remote sensing experience is a bonus.
  • Deep understanding of software development processes and a product-centric approach to building technology.
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams across engineering, product, and design.
  • Experience managing remote teams.
  • Experience managing global teams.
  • Strong recruiting network and willingness to actively hire top talent.
  • Ability to lead with boldness, empathy, curiosity, clarity, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Must be based in or able to work from Europe (GMT/WET, CET) or the Eastern United States (EST).
