Description

  • Discuss, plan, design, build, and ship features across the full stack, from the user interface to backend services and AI-powered APIs.
  • Own the end-to-end quality of the system, including reliability, performance, and user experience.
  • Help evolve the architecture as modules are migrated into independent services.
  • Partner with engineers, designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define the user experience and technical approach.
  • Review code through pull requests and maintain strong code quality and unit test coverage.
  • Triage and fix bugs, including working directly with users to understand and resolve issues.
  • Use AI tools, workflows, and automations to accelerate engineering and support AI-powered product features.
  • Work on capabilities used by thousands of businesses every day.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience building web applications using modern software engineering processes.
  • Proficiency in Python and Django on the backend.
  • Front-end proficiency, ideally with Angular, and hands-on experience with a design system or shared component library.
  • Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar as part of the daily workflow.
  • Track record of building performant and scalable systems across both frontend and backend.
  • Ability to debug complex issues across the stack, from frontend rendering issues to database performance problems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
  • Ability to jump in quickly when systems break and drive issues to root cause.
  • Experience with fintech, accounting, or ERP integrations is a plus.
  • Experience building features powered by LLMs or AI APIs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS and modern DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Product sense and an instinct for what makes a feature genuinely useful is a plus.
