Description

Own and evolve the insights surfaces, including APIs, data models, and UX for entity insights, records browsing, labeling, graphs, profiles, and audio/chat/file insights.
Define typed, versioned contracts and rollout gates between TypeScript services and Python model services, using feature flags, canaries, and safe rollbacks.
Manage OpenSearch schemas and analyzers, design reindex and backfill strategies, and run relevance experiments and A/B tests.
Build offline and online evaluation harnesses and integrate human-in-the-loop correction workflows.
Design idempotent, backpressure-aware batch and streaming enrichment pipelines that support both backfills and real-time updates.
Instrument traces, metrics, and logs end to end, and own SLOs, error budgets, and incident response for the insights surfaces.
Reduce inference spend through batching, caching, quantization decisions, and right-sizing GPU and CPU resources while tracking budgets.
Partner with Research on model selection and release, and with Foundation and Platform teams on data contracts, search/index hygiene, and deployment.
Ensure provenance, auditability, and compliant handling of sensitive data across SaaS and air-gapped installations.
Stay hands-on in development while leading the team and contributing across the platform.

Requirements

7+ years of software engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js, including full-stack work with React.
Deep Kubernetes experience operating production workloads.
Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, Azure, or similar.
Experience leading technical teams and major architecture migrations.
Strong mentorship track record.
Experience shipping ML-powered product features such as search, ASR, OCR, NER, translation, or summarization.
Ability to evaluate ML features using metrics such as precision/recall, F1, WER/CER, and latency/cost SLOs.
Strong experience with ElasticSearch or OpenSearch, including schemas, analyzers, reindexing, and relevance tuning.
Experience building event-driven systems and batch plus streaming pipelines, such as Kafka or Flink, with attention to idempotency and exactly-once behavior where needed.
Experience with observability tools and practices such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, SLOs, and error budgets.
Experience in B2B SaaS or government/defense contexts is preferred.
Experience with on-prem or air-gapped deployments is preferred.
Open-source contributions or speaking and writing on technical topics are preferred.
Python coding skills are preferred.
