Description

  • Lead a team in developing and executing a multi-year product roadmap for the Sample Management Solutions business.
  • Identify and quantify market opportunities, develop product concepts, and drive product development and commercialization.
  • Establish and execute product lifecycle management plans, including claims evolution, COGS reduction, pricing analysis, SKU consolidation, and product rationalization.
  • Provide strategic leadership to cross-functional product development teams and serve as the voice of the customer.
  • Maintain a prioritized portfolio of product initiatives and secure support and resourcing from cross-functional leaders.
  • Create business cases and forecasts to quantitatively justify product projects and expected customer acceptance.
  • Collaborate with R&D, regulatory and clinical affairs, operations, finance, downstream marketing, and sales.
  • Lead the development of the SMS business growth strategy through the annual strategy playbook process.
  • Lead market research activities, synthesize customer and market insights, and identify new product and business opportunities.
  • Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders, advocacy organizations, and external collaborators to support adoption and product initiatives.
  • Develop 5-year financial projections for the SMS long-range plan and analyze financial metrics to assess portfolio health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business- or science-related field required.
  • PhD or MBA highly desirable.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management or a related function.
  • Prior product management experience in the medical devices industry, particularly diagnostics, highly desirable.
  • Strong track record leading successful new product introductions from concept through launch.
  • Significant experience identifying and quantitatively assessing business opportunities and developing business plans.
  • Experience conducting market research to understand customer needs and market trends.
  • Experience working directly with a sales team to set and meet sales targets.
  • Experience developing key opinion leader relationships and external partnerships.
  • Experience managing and coaching direct reports and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to travel throughout the US/Canada and internationally.
