Description

  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain highly available infrastructure and services.
  • Maintain and extend a large, mature Terraform codebase.
  • Analyze systems to improve performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
  • Automate manual processes to reduce toil.
  • Develop and maintain integrations with third-party monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Drive incident response best practices for on-call engineering teams.
  • Participate in the SRE team's on-call rotation for core infrastructure.
  • Collaborate on architectural decisions for services and initiatives.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in computer science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience, including 3+ years supporting production systems.
  • Strong interest and experience with Kubernetes, networking, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu.
  • Exposure to at least one major cloud platform.
  • Practical experience with SQL, NoSQL, and object storage datastores.
  • Strong computer science foundation.
  • Ability to evaluate technologies based on merit, stability, performance, and debuggability.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Bonus: Experience with high-throughput, low-latency services, distributed teams, IAM/security management, GIS mapping systems and tiles, Claude Code, and Airflow or equivalent ETL systems.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of $130,000 to $153,000 upon hire.
