Description

  • Own Cloud Engineering technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmaps across CI/CD, infrastructure as code, AKS containers, observability, and security.
  • Lead cross-functional, multi-quarter cloud initiatives and drive alignment, adoption, and delivery across engineering teams.
  • Represent Cloud Engineering in leadership forums and partner with Product, Security, Compliance, Platform, and QE teams.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex production incidents and address systemic technical debt.
  • Own the Terraform codebase, including module design and versioning, Azure Storage remote-state strategy, lifecycle-based state splitting, and drift detection.
  • Embed security as code through managed identities, workload identity federation, Key Vault, Terraform-defined RBAC and Azure Policy, and ACR/Defender container image scanning.
  • Design multi-region failover, backup and disaster recovery, and observability solutions; partner on SLO and error-budget definitions.
  • Create reusable Terraform modules and AKS blueprints that enable self-service cloud standards for engineering teams.
  • Mentor engineers and influence technical leadership and standards across the organization.
  • Balance technical implementation decisions with financial impact.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, including Terraform or Bicep, CI/CD, GitOps, and cloud architecture; Azure experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience owning technical strategy and driving organization-wide standards.
  • Proven record of improving developer experience.
  • Deep understanding of the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and think strategically.
  • Strong judgment and ability to influence leaders at all levels.
  • Experience at a cloud service provider, managed service provider, or SaaS company (preferred).
  • Experience with cloud-native platforms and services at scale, such as Kubernetes/AKS, Azure SQL, Azure AI Foundry, or Azure APIM, and compliance frameworks including FedRAMP, DoD IL4, SOC, or SOX (preferred).

  • Base salary of $151,000–$196,000 USD, based on experience, skills, and location, with potential additional variable compensation.
