Description

  • Maintain and optimize existing Natural Language Understanding (NLU) rule-based and machine learning models across multiple languages.
  • Work with native speakers to understand grammar, syntax, semantics, and phonetics of target languages.
  • Develop NLU rule-based and machine learning models for new languages.
  • Develop and review language-specific assets such as textual corpora, phonetic dictionaries, and golden test sets.
  • Provide linguistic feedback for non-NLU components, including Automated Speech Recognition and Text-to-Speech.
  • Support the Quality Assurance team with test execution and test evaluation.
  • Contribute to building a robust methodology for creating language-specific assets for new languages.

Requirements

  • Academic degree in Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise with linguistic data for Indo-European languages, especially Scandinavian, Balto-Slavic, Romance, Germanic, and Turkic languages.
  • Basic programming skills in JavaScript, Python, bash, or other languages commonly used in NLP tasks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and at least one additional language.
  • Additional language proficiency is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Apache UIMA Ruta is preferred.
  • Familiarity with version control tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with NLU/NLP frameworks and tools such as NLT, spaCy, DeepL, and SparkNLP is preferred.
