Description

  • Partner with engineering and procurement teams to develop technical specifications, statements of work, and drawing packages for refueling equipment suppliers.
  • Own vendor design development to ensure plant requirements, codes, standards, regulations, contract terms, budget, and schedule are met.
  • Review technical design documents and drawings, including P&IDs, technical specifications, analyses, and calculations.
  • Work with vendors during manufacturing to resolve deviations and document non-conformance reports with impacts and resolutions.
  • Support preparation of installation procedures, system description documents, and design review materials.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and status updates on technical scope and project progress.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and external suppliers.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to fabricators and subcontractor facilities as needed, up to 50%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant technical and/or project management experience in the design and manufacturing of complex structures and integrated systems.
  • Experience collaborating on cross-functional teams and incorporating feedback from analysis, manufacturing, and systems engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and present engineering work clearly.
  • Comfort working with external manufacturers and engineering consultants for fabrication and analysis support.
  • Experience setting and achieving project goals using project management tools.
  • Experience managing design-build and build-to-print contracts.
  • Familiarity with design and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience designing large structural weldments and mechanical joints (preferred).
  • Background in high-integrity or safety-critical systems such as nuclear, aerospace, defense, or heavy industry (preferred).
  • Ability to lead hardware projects through the full development cycle from concept and design to testing and production (preferred).
  • Knowledge of large-scale fabrication techniques and transportation/handling of large components (preferred).
  • Understanding of thermal-mechanical analysis and high-temperature design (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of nuclear fission and radiation effects on materials and components (preferred).
  • Experience with high-tolerance machining, precision machining, metrology, and tolerance studies (preferred).
  • Familiarity with U.S. design codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (preferred).
  • Must be eligible as a U.S. person under applicable export control laws.
