Description

  • Design, build, and modify Python scripts and integrations that automate business processes.
  • Research and implement solutions ranging from targeted fixes to complex multi-system integrations.
  • Integrate third-party platforms through APIs and webhooks, including payroll, recordkeeper, billing, accounting, and e-signature systems.
  • Manage daily job schedules, troubleshoot production errors, resolve root causes, and optimize production throughput.
  • Maintain, refactor, modernize, and retire automation code as needed.
  • Deploy scripts and projects from development through production.
  • Develop and apply standards for version control, logging, and code quality.
  • Partner with business users to understand workflows, account for edge cases, and validate solutions.
  • Report project status and outcomes to management and collaborate with software vendors and internal IT teams.
  • Identify fragile processes and replace them with resilient, scalable automation solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
  • At least 5 years of experience building production code in a team environment, with Python as a primary language.
  • Experience working with APIs, including REST/JSON, authentication, and webhooks.
  • Familiarity with MySQL, GitHub, and virtual machines.
  • Ability to document processes and manage projects in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical topics to non-technical colleagues.
  • Commitment to improving system maintainability, resilience, and code quality.
  • Comfort working remotely via Microsoft Teams and regular video calls.
  • Ability to pass a background check and authorization to work for any U.S. employer while based in the USA.
  • Experience with retirement plan administration, 401(k), payroll, or financial services data (preferred).
  • Experience with PensionPro, DocuSign, payroll integration platforms, AWS, cloud services, SonarQube, CI pipelines, or Selenium (preferred).

Benefits

  • Base salary of $100,000–$110,000, depending on experience.
  • Salaried, non-exempt role with paid overtime when needed.
  • Fully remote work with company-provided computer and dual-monitor equipment.
