Description

  • Manage high volumes of patient-facing and internal billing inquiries, including denials, patient responsibility questions, and insurance coverage verifications.
  • Work claims end-to-end through the clearinghouse and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure a smooth billing experience.
  • Support efforts to streamline revenue cycle operations by identifying automation opportunities, recommending new tools, and optimizing workflows.
  • Assist with ad hoc revenue cycle projects, including payer-specific billing initiatives and new service line expansions.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for revenue cycle workflows and proactively identify process gaps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to communicate billing updates, escalate complex cases, and gather information needed to resolve issues.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to test, evaluate, and improve AI-powered billing tools and automation.
  • Support consistent, reliable execution of billing and revenue cycle processes as the company scales.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a revenue cycle, medical billing, or healthcare operations role.
  • Familiarity with insurance billing workflows, including claim submission, denial management, ERA reconciliation, and payer communications.
  • Patient-first communication style with the ability to be professional, empathetic, and de-escalate billing concerns.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Comfort managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive mindset with an eagerness to learn, take ownership, and solve problems.
  • Interest in technology and automation, including comfort shaping how AI tools are built and used.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • NYC-based or remote candidates are eligible for this full-time role.
