Description

  • Own the architecture of Northbeam’s ingestion and integration platform.
  • Define technical direction for event-driven and batch processing, including build-versus-buy and migration decisions.
  • Establish standards for observability, data freshness, and failure handling.
  • Lead platform design across data engineering, infrastructure, and product teams.
  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, technical guidance, and code contributions.
  • Identify and drive resolution of unscoped platform problems.
  • Support onboarding of new data sources across advertising, commerce, and event platforms.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software or data engineering experience, including ownership of large-scale ingestion, ETL, or integration platforms.
  • Deep proficiency in Python, with strong SQL and cloud data warehouse experience such as BigQuery.
  • Experience designing API-based ETL systems at scale using REST, GraphQL, webhooks, authentication, and multi-tenancy.
  • Production experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership across teams, including setting direction and influencing engineers without direct authority.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices.
  • Strong judgment balancing platform durability with delivery speed.
  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, API keys, secrets management, and secure multi-tenant architectures (preferred).
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, CDP, or other enterprise data platforms and APIs; event-driven systems; data governance; GDPR; or SOC 2 (preferred).
