Description

  • Build SQL-based transformation workflows to parse, cleanse, and model complex data in established patterns and standards.
  • Write and maintain production-ready dbt models in Snowflake, including tests and documentation.
  • Contribute Python workflows that complement SQL/dbt transformations and automate repeatable data tasks.
  • Support daily financial data feeds that standardize raw data from multiple sources into the warehouse.
  • Support exports of fresh, correct datasets to downstream production systems and validate outputs early.
  • Investigate and resolve data issues through analysis and lineage tracing, escalating with clear evidence and proposed fixes when needed.
  • Deliver high-quality features with attention to correctness, maintainability, and operational safety.
  • Develop a working understanding of custodial data and how it affects customer experience and product behavior.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
  • Continuously improve independence, throughput, and quality across delivery cycles.

Requirements

  • Early-career experience building data pipelines, analytics workflows, or production data systems, or equivalent hands-on academic/project experience.
  • Substantial practical experience working with real datasets; coursework alone is not sufficient.
  • Clear, correct SQL experience in Snowflake/dbt within an established warehouse architecture.
  • Ability to implement joins, aggregations, and window functions appropriately and safely extend existing pipelines.
  • Strong analytical rigor to validate outputs against business expectations and explain discrepancies.
  • Experience tracing data lineage, narrowing hypotheses, identifying root causes, and collaborating with senior engineers on broader changes.
  • Ability to communicate findings with evidence and propose practical fixes.
  • Experience using modern AI developer tools to accelerate delivery and improve quality, with the ability to ramp quickly if exposure is limited.
  • Willingness to incorporate feedback and improve reliability through better tests, documentation, and automation.
  • Expected compensation of $100k-$115k base salary plus annual bonus target, with lower or higher pay possible based on experience.
