Description

  • Provide technical and line-management leadership to a development team.
  • Lead project delivery and take ownership of successful outcomes.
  • Work directly with clients to translate business and technical requirements into technical briefs and applications.
  • Identify and remove blockers before they impact delivery.
  • Shape architectural decisions with an emphasis on scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Ensure best practices in software development, DevOps, and agile methodologies are followed.
  • Provide regular updates to client and Nearform leadership on project status and decision-making.
  • Guide team members through code standards, feedback, and technical improvement.
  • Collaborate with distributed teams to build secure, high-performance applications.

Requirements

  • Based in the UK and authorised to work without sponsorship.
  • Full-time, permanent role.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites, with travel expenses covered by the company.
  • Significant experience in software engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience leading projects and mentoring as a Technical Lead.
  • Professional experience with Python.
  • Experience with AI application development and agentic frameworks/platforms such as LangGraph or Agentspace.
  • Experience working directly with clients or customers to understand technical requirements.
  • Proven experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Strong CI/CD experience, including hands-on work with Terraform, Helm, and other cloud-native IaC technologies.
  • Deep understanding of observability practices, including practical experience with OpenTelemetry (OTel) and related tooling.
  • Experience leading engineering teams through technical delivery, with direct line management or mentoring experience.
  • Deep understanding of agile ways of working, design patterns, test-driven development, and testing best practices.
  • Deep understanding of version control tools such as Git.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Understanding of operational concerns such as monitoring, performance testing, security, accessibility, and GDPR.
  • Strong empathy and people skills.
