Description

  • Review and abstract clinical data from EHRs, paper charts, and other source documents according to project protocols.
  • Apply medical coding systems and clinical guidelines to classify unstructured information into standardized, machine-readable data.
  • Enter, track, and maintain clinical data in REDCap, registries, and electronic data capture systems.
  • Support clinical data requirements, prompt engineering, and design for AI and LLM initiatives.
  • Apply clinical data management and good clinical practice standards across end-to-end ETL workflows.
  • Perform quality assurance using macros, Excel or Google Sheets formulas, reports, and pivot tables.
  • Conduct peer reviews and mentor abstraction staff to support quality and productivity standards.
  • Ensure compliance with protocols, IRB requirements, HIPAA, privacy regulations, and data security policies.
  • Improve abstraction guidelines, tools, and standard operating procedures.
  • Submit regular abstraction and productivity reports and participate in team meetings and workshops.

Requirements

  • U.S. licensure as a Nurse, PA-C, NP, or DNP and a master’s degree in health sciences.
  • 4–5 years of clinical data abstraction and medical record review experience, preferably in cancer, women’s health, or rare diseases.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, clinical workflows, cancer, and genetic testing.
  • Experience interpreting complex clinical information from electronic and paper medical records.
  • Experience with clinical data encoding, ICD-10-CM, SNOMED CT, data mapping, standardization, and harmonization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, including data analysis, reports, formulas, and pivot tables.
  • Experience with clinical data systems, databases, electronic data capture tools, or data registries.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data integrity, quality control, HIPAA, and privacy requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • CCDM, CCRP, ACR-P, or CRA certification is preferred; relevant clinical or technical licensures must be maintained.
