Description

  • Build and operate the Internal Developer Portal as a product with real users, adoption metrics, and a roadmap.
  • Develop a reliable service catalog with automated ingestion, ownership data, and infrastructure relationships.
  • Create integrations with cloud accounts, CI/CD systems, secrets management, and internal APIs.
  • Shape the golden path framework, including templates, scaffolding, standards, and built-in security, networking, observability, and compliance controls.
  • Build Infrastructure Provisioning golden paths that serve as reference implementations for other teams.
  • Help domain teams create their own golden paths through documentation, examples, pairing, and code reviews.
  • Reimagine existing pipelines, internal UIs, and procedures as portal-native workflows, and retire superseded tooling.
  • Improve adoption through onboarding, high-frequency workflows, measured friction, and platform scorecards.
  • Make platform interfaces and metadata accessible to AI coding agents while maintaining Natera standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE, including shared services used by multiple teams.
  • Strong AWS experience, including IAM, multi-account environments, and EKS.
  • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and reusable CI/CD pipeline development.
  • Strong programming ability in at least one modern language and experience building production software with testing, code review, and operational discipline.
  • Experience building or extending an internal developer portal, developer platform, or comparable self-service tooling; transferable automation experience may also qualify.
  • Experience redesigning fragmented internal capabilities into coherent self-service workflows.
  • TypeScript and React, or equivalent modern application development experience; prior experience with this specific stack is not required.
  • Experience owning work from design through production support and collaborating effectively with system-owning teams.
  • Fluent use of AI coding assistants and agentic tooling; interest in protocols such as MCP.
  • Clear technical writing, including design documents, ADRs, and operational documentation; Backstage or Port, docs-as-code, PostgreSQL, platform authentication, or open-source experience preferred.
