Description

  • Conceptualize, design, develop, and implement automated solutions for NGS assay performance.
  • Develop standalone instruments and integrated laboratory automation systems.
  • Work independently while contributing to larger team-based development efforts.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and software engineers to deliver automated platforms.
  • Provide high-level support for processes at both the instrument level and the assay results level.
  • Integrate a variety of laboratory instruments, including liquid handlers, plate readers, and plate-handling robotics.
  • Program and operate liquid handling systems such as Tecan and Hamilton platforms.
  • Work with internal teams and manage relationships with external contractors.
  • Support multiple simultaneous projects with strong organization and project management.
  • Contribute leadership and go beyond day-to-day responsibilities as part of the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, a closely related scientific field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in laboratory automation engineering.
  • Technical proficiency in automation, systems development, and integration in the life sciences industry.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics and liquid handling systems.
  • NGS laboratory background is a plus.
  • Clinical laboratory background is a plus.
  • Software programming and data handling experience, including database work, is a plus.
  • Experience with LIMS systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills.
