Description

  • Build and manage business data pipelines and transform Firefox telemetry into structured, high-quality datasets.
  • Partner with data scientists, product, and marketing teams to turn complex data into models and metrics that inform decisions.
  • Monitor dataset quality and performance using observability tools and participate in a weekly triage rotation to resolve data issues.
  • Work with other data engineers and platform engineers to improve the data platform and related workflows.
  • Implement and enforce data governance and privacy policies across large-scale data systems.
  • Design and maintain modular, reusable, and performant data engineering code.
  • Own projects from planning through delivery while managing blockers and communicating progress to the team.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to data collection methods and data modeling approaches.
  • Use cloud-based distributed systems and processing patterns to support scalable data workflows.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in data engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Interest in integrating AI into data engineering workflows.
  • Experience mapping complex business processes into extensible analytical data models.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including modular, reusable code and efficient logic.
  • Ability to take a high-level goal, create a plan, and execute projects independently.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with a distributed team across time zones.
  • Experience with cloud distributed systems, including GCP, distributed databases, message queues, or batch/stream processing (proficiency in one or more preferred areas).
  • Experience recommending and implementing new data collection methods to improve data model quality.
  • Experience using data to answer specific questions and guide company decisions.
  • Ability to ensure data reliability through smart orchestration, error handling, and idempotency.
