Description

  • Define and lead Mozilla’s global editorial strategy across Mozilla.org and associated digital channels.
  • Co-create content frameworks with communications teams across the Foundation and Mozilla’s subsidiaries to align narrative development.
  • Establish Mozilla.org as the canonical front page for Mozilla by curating, commissioning, and publishing content across the organization and beyond.
  • Oversee the redesign and ongoing evolution of Mozilla.org as a dynamic storytelling platform.
  • Synthesize inputs from across the Mozilla portfolio to advance key narratives and reflect ecosystem-wide impact.
  • Curate, remix, and deploy content across articles, essays, op-eds, video, social, newsletters, and experimental media.
  • Collaborate with decentralized social leads to develop a cohesive strategy for Mozilla’s social platforms.
  • Build and manage an editorial calendar aligned with key moments such as reports, launches, and global events.
  • Launch and grow new content channels and verticals focused on AI, open source, and digital sovereignty.
  • Manage the annual State of Mozilla report and work across the portfolio to develop a dynamic, agenda-setting product.

Requirements

  • Exceptional editorial judgment and taste, with the ability to make sharp calls in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to operate as a curator and conductor across platforms, blending ideas, formats, and voices into cohesive storytelling.
  • Strong cross-organizational leadership and diplomatic influence in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Service-oriented mindset and comfort stewarding a shared platform across multiple teams.
  • Deep understanding of modern content ecosystems, including social, video, newsletters, and web.
  • Ability to translate complex technology and policy topics into narratives that shape public conversation.
  • Experience managing contributors, freelancers, and agency partners.
  • Passion for an open internet, trustworthy AI, and public-interest technology, aligned with Mozilla’s values of openness, privacy, and human-centered innovation.
  • Bonus: Experience building or evolving high-visibility editorial platforms or brands, especially in technology, policy, or mission-driven organizations.

Benefits

  • Target annual base salary of $139,000–$175,000.
