Description

  • Lead research and development of novel autonomous-driving motion-planning algorithms.
  • Architect, integrate, evaluate, and refine motion-planning and prediction algorithms for real-world deployment.
  • Design and build robust, scalable, high-performance software for prototyping and evaluating planning approaches.
  • Collaborate with perception, prediction, trajectory optimization, tracking, and control teams to ensure end-to-end system performance.
  • Promote strong software development practices and technical excellence across the team.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide product-focused research and development.

Requirements

  • PhD preferred in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; alternatively, a master’s degree with 2+ years of robotics experience.
  • 5+ years of research experience in robotics or motion planning, with contributions to state-of-the-art solutions.
  • 3+ years of C++ software development experience focused on high-performance, reliable systems.
  • Experience leading complex features from problem formulation through research, implementation, and production deployment.
  • Experience with probabilistic models such as Gaussian mixture models, Hidden Markov Models, or particle filters preferred.
  • Experience with Bayesian modeling and inference for decision-making under uncertainty preferred.
  • Experience with the Bazel build framework preferred.
  • Ability to work hybrid in Boston, Pittsburgh, or Las Vegas, or fully remotely.
