Description

  • Lead research and development of new motion planning algorithms for autonomous driving.
  • Develop advanced search-based, geometry-based, and probabilistic methods for motion planning and decision making under uncertainty.
  • Architect and integrate motion planning and prediction algorithms for real-world deployment.
  • Design and build scalable, high-performance software for rapid prototyping and rigorous algorithm evaluation.
  • Collaborate with perception, prediction, trajectory optimization, tracking, and control teams to ensure end-to-end system performance.
  • Teach and promote better software engineering practices across the team.
  • Mentor junior team members and help foster a product-focused engineering culture.
  • Evaluate, refine, and improve algorithms and codebases for production use.

Requirements

  • PhD or master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3+ years of C++ software development experience with an emphasis on algorithm development.
  • Experience owning and leading technical development for complex features from problem formulation through research, implementation, and deployment.
  • Experience in the autonomous vehicle industry or motion planning, with a track record of contributing to state-of-the-art solutions (preferred).
  • Experience with probabilistic models such as Gaussian mixture models, Hidden Markov Models, and Particle Filters (preferred).
  • Experience with Bayesian modeling and inference techniques for decision making under uncertainty (preferred).
  • Experience with the Bazel build framework (preferred).
  • Strong drive for learning, innovation, and pushing the boundaries of autonomous driving technology.
