Description

  • Maintain MoonPay’s portfolio of U.S. Money Transmitter Licenses, including renewals, amendments, and state regulatory correspondence.
  • Coordinate state regulatory examinations by organizing documentation, tracking requests, and supporting responses across internal teams.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings to state MSB regulators through the NMLS system.
  • Support due diligence reviews for new and existing business partnerships, assessing licensing obligations and regulatory risks.
  • Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures, and controls documentation to reflect current state and federal money transmission requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments across U.S. jurisdictions and escalate potential impacts to senior team members.
  • Work closely with Legal, Finance, FIU, Operations, and external partners on compliance matters.
  • Assist with ongoing maintenance of state licensing and broader regulatory obligations for the business.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in regulatory compliance, ideally in fintech, payments, money services, or a related financial services environment.
  • Hands-on experience with U.S. state Money Transmitter Licenses, including renewals, amendments, and regulator communications.
  • Familiarity with the NMLS system and state MSB licensing processes.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. state and federal money transmission regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and regulatory obligations simultaneously.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Operations, and external partners in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CAMS, CRCM, CCEP, or similar are preferred.
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations end-to-end is preferred.
  • Exposure to crypto or digital asset regulatory frameworks is preferred.
  • Experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment is preferred.
