Description

Partner with Engineering Directors to shape the technical and product direction of a collective across multiple squads.
Provide hands-on coding and architecture leadership.
Work closely with Product and Design leaders to define strategy, shape roadmaps, and make trade-offs that maximise business and customer impact.
Mobilise teams around high-impact problems by creating clarity, alignment, urgency, and momentum.
Lead architectural direction for complex systems and ensure cohesive, scalable designs across teams.
Drive improvements in technical quality, reliability, and scalability across the collective.
Mentor, sponsor, and develop senior engineers and future leaders.
Influence and align senior stakeholders across engineering, product, and other functions.

Requirements

Experience leading complex, high-impact systems and driving technical direction across multiple teams.
Strong technical judgment combined with product and business awareness.
Experience with scalable backend, distributed, or data-intensive systems.
Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces and helping teams define direction.
Ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across engineering, product, and beyond.
Focus on outcomes and impact, using data to guide decisions.
Enjoyment of mentoring and raising the bar for other engineers.
Experience with Go, Cassandra, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, React, or Feast is relevant to the role.
Willingness to work from London or distributed within the UK with ad hoc meetings in London.
Visa sponsorship and relocation to the UK are available for eligible candidates.

£140,000 - £184,000 salary plus share options.
