Description

Support the implementation and day-to-day operation of Monzo’s risk management framework.
Embed risk and control self-assessment processes and 2nd line oversight and monitoring.
Partner with teams across the business to develop new products and features with strong risk practices, especially in Finance and Wealth/Investment.
Manage and follow up on risk events, working with teams to identify risks, controls, and solutions.
Conduct in-depth reviews of business areas, including technology adoption, regulatory compliance, and operational risk reporting.
Review and assess changes to operational processes that affect the company’s risk profile.
Analyse operational risk data, including incidents, external event scans, and operational losses, to identify trends and risks.
Provide oversight and challenge to the first line of defence, including senior stakeholders.
Support risk assessments and risk assurance activity.
Promote and help embed a strong risk culture across Monzo.

Requirements

Experience in a second line of defence role in banking, financial services, or risk consultancy.
Knowledge of operational risk regulatory requirements and operational resilience.
Knowledge of wealth and investment products and services.
Knowledge of finance operational processes.
Experience providing risk oversight and challenge to the first line of defence, including senior stakeholders.
Experience analysing risk data and presenting findings to senior stakeholders and oversight committees.
Resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing day-to-day priorities.
Hands-on, strong in stakeholder management, execution, and attention to detail.
Curious, collaborative, able to ask incisive questions, take ownership, and act quickly.
Motivated by Monzo’s mission to make money work for everyone through modern technology.

£59,500 - £74,000 salary.
