Description

  • Define technical direction and make architectural and product decisions.
  • Own the roadmap and identify gaps in existing systems.
  • Continuously build on top of existing systems with minimal guidance.
  • Design and maintain robust automated test suites as part of the development process.
  • Create and evolve admin panels and internal tooling with usability and maintainability in mind.
  • Translate internal stakeholder needs into structured technical solutions.
  • Make pragmatic trade-offs for smaller-scale environments and internal use cases.
  • Work independently and take responsibility for technical outcomes.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • Deep, senior-level expertise in Ruby on Rails and React.
  • Proven senior profile with experience shaping systems and guiding direction.
  • Strong end-to-end ownership and ability to operate independently.
  • Extensive experience designing and maintaining robust test suites.
  • Clear focus on admin panels and internal tooling rather than user-facing products.
  • Experience working closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in smaller-scale environments where pragmatic decision-making matters more than hyper-scale concerns.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle varying levels of complexity.
  • Freelance arrangement as part of the Monterail Tech Network.
